Develop the skills to be an effective and successful leader. High impact leaders have the ability to lead and influence others toward a common goal. To do this you must develop your own toolbox of strategies - to maintain engagement, to build collaborative support and to master conflict while remaining true to your authentic self.
Upon completing this course, learners will be able to design an effective influence strategy to accomplish goals, even without formal authority. You’ll be able to recognize team dynamics and identify ways to help each member contribute more effectively. Through exercises and lessons, you’ll pinpoint problems and challenges in the way you (and your teams) make decisions. Finally, you’ll walk away with a concrete plan for continuing to expand your situational adaptability as a leader, allowing you to adjust with fluency and achieve your fullest potential.
Clarity of Purpose: To develop a clear picture of ‘who we are and what do we aim to achieve’. To set clear goals and chart your growth path accordingly. Should a ship sail without a port of call it will drift aimlessly, very similar to our lives without a goal.
Clarity of Communication: The leader and his team need to understand the ‘North Star’ and communicate clearly, and set goals/ KRAs in accordance to the North Star. Any miscommunication would lead to breakdown and this mission breakdown.
Clarity of Time: Each individual needs to manage their tasks, time and resources to achieve their goals. It means correct prioritization, delegation and the importance of understanding the abilities of the team and its members.
Clarity of Interpersonal Relations: Knowing how to handle the team/ people and getting to align each member to the goals of the organization and yet fulfilling their individual aspirations. Recognize the importance of feedback, and handling negative responses.
Clarity of Self: A leader has to be self-motivated, with a very high sense of self-belief, self-esteem, self-confidence, self-control and last but not least self-awareness. Once the leader radiates confidence, the team develops faith and trust in the leader.
Clarity of Vision/ Goal: Once the leader believes in the vision he can inspire the team to ‘buy-in’ to his vision. He/ she can then lead the team to the success/ achievement of the goal.
Clarity of Role: The leader besides guiding/ coaching/ mentoring/ directing/ facilitating the team is also responsible for the overall growth of each member of the team. They pass on their knowledge, skills and experience to the members of the team.
Clarity of Being: The leader must ‘understand’ (hear - listen - understand) their team members. Empathy and mindfulness to deal with individuals and situations lead to successful mission accomplishment. The quality to be a successful leader rather than a successful business; the former is the cause and the latter is the effect.
Clarity of Ethics: The leader walks the talk. The ethical culture of any organization is the direct function of the leader and how they handle/ deal with ethics and ethical issues. Personal integrity and organizational values result in a competitive advantage.
