Bio-technology is the study ofthe use of living systems and organisms to develop or make useful products. It is the study of technological applications that use biological systems, living organisms or derivatives thereof, to make or modify products or processes for specific use.
Biotechnology has applications in four major industrial areas, including health care (medical), crop production and agriculture, non-food (industrial) uses of crops and other products biodegradable plastics vegetable oil, biofuels), and environmental uses.
Career Prospects
Bio-technology takes place on all levels: in the public sector from municipal through to national governments, and in the private sector from individual homeowners through to international companies.
